I have taught on three continents and have done research on four. I currently teach global studies courses related to world history, including World War II and Contemporary World. I have also taught business history, leadership theory, and the history of ethnic groups in the United States—including Chinese Americans. I have published a history of the leading Chaoshan handkerchief importing firm in the United States. I have an active research project about Shantou in Global Context, 1860-1949. I am also writing about the history of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States during the 1960s. I have published an award-winning biography of Clement J. Zablocki. I have also published an award winning article about George Wallace campaigning in the north.
